I just put this in Julian's journal as well - who, coincidently, is also talking about waking up early! In fact the both of us read the 5 AM Club (his in english mine in spanish).

But the Steve Pavlina blog has a lot of good advice and this one especially. I remember reading it way back in 05!

You can slowly get your own genes to regulate your NEW sleep cycle to become an early riser awww yeahhhh!

An interesting read, but I don't see the appeal of getting up at 5am personally. That said, I wouldn't mind using some of these strategies to try and wake up earlier in the day than I do at present. The biggest issue I currently have is when I am in the middle of being productive and get contacted by other people who have been finished with their days for hours, for then it is much easier to get distracted. Hopefully everyone was able to wish the fathers in their life a happy fathers day today! I hoped to get done early and attend the yoga class but some folks who came to look at puppies ended up being here for longer than expected.

I can't tell if I got a really late start to the day today or actually an early start! Puppies are so good at making noise early in the morning that I woke up after just around an hour of sleep, but since I went back to bed after the sun was up I am not sure how to best classify it. Then again, time is just an illusion reinforced by the spinning of the earth, so I guess it isn't a big deal. Today was okay for productivity, plenty of thistles met their demise to the sickle but more still remain.

Today has been basically an i day for me unfortunately. I still have a little time to do even a little more, but I have not felt great today and am tempted to take a nap then get up early in the AM to do some more work.

Today is feeling like an i+1 day thus far! I have managed to get a bunch of things done, but really want to get some study time in as well, hopefully I can do that soon.

I managed to get started on my reading earlier today than most days, so I am at least at an i day, however, it appears as though my e-reader has quite the substantial update. Hopefully that finishes soon so that I can finish this up!

Good morning to you Marcus. I agree with you about the early rising time. Perhaps just waking up a bit earlier tomorrow than you did today would be good, (that is what I am currently doing). It has to be tough, when your work day is still going on, others are finished with theirs, and want your attention.

Good evening Deborah, I do like the idea of waking up a little earlier each day, but I definitely like the idea of getting to an hour one likes to wake up and then always waking up then, regardless of whether or not it has been 8 hours for sleeping. Then I just have to figure out how to get to where I am going to bed as soon as I get appropriately tired. Maybe I will try doing some sort of no tech at night thing to see what happens! At least if I can get my work done before other people start relaxing I will not have to worry too much about distractions.

Today I managed to get my reading done, but it really doesn't feel like I retained much of the information. I find that the more abstract and informationally dense a topic, the more difficult it is for me to get through it and firmly grasp what they are discussing. I guess it's just another example of why textbooks are not the best way to learn about something.

I managed to get more than an hour of study in and also finished my anki study for today, so I would say that feels like an i+1 day today. Now if I get to bed kind of early and wake up early I will be on track to do better tomorrow! With any luck I will do a ton of adding by the end of the ACA week and have a better grasp of my studies!

I would say today was an i+1 day, for I ended up getting through all of my reading and then managed to even do some extra as well as more pull ups than usual. Tomorrow I gotta make it an i+100 day when it comes to adding though...
