Bottom post of the previous page:

"My biggest issue is getting distracted part-way through a task or chain, at which point I end up failing to complete it, but I feel it may be tricky for me to completely avoid that."

Could be the case, happens to me too. But the nice thing is that before you realize it your 'new normal' is a lot higher and so even if you don't complete the full routine, you are doing much MORE than you used to.

Like I just reviewed 100 cards, stretched, and am doing forum posts now and none of that is even going to really earn me a Habit Tracker X and even an i (for an i+1 Moment) would be pushing it for any one of the routines that those Habits belong too.... but still as a result I am still doing them and still doing more than I was doing a year ago! Not to mention the stretching I did on a google meet so finally get a very basic (not even sound) recording of my stretching routine out there - turning lemons into lemonade!

So even a day like today for me I could consider an i+1 day because of that.

That is a good point, over time building good habits will definitely help one accomplish more without realizing it, as long as one can manage to build good habits! I am going to keep at it and hope for the best, that's all I can do after all! I also managed to snag some CAD programs for fairly cheap, I am going to see how tricky it is to figure out how to work them, if it isn't too difficult the ACA may even be able to use them to get some renders for proposed buildings!

The summer heat really came on quickly today, so I haven't been as productive as I wanted, but I still got stuff done so I am going to count it as an i+1 day, especially since there is still time in the day! I decided to try setting multiple alarms on my phone to ensure that I don't get sidetracked doing something for too long, which seems to have helped a bit, but I need more time to be sure.

I guess that the US really is breaking some records right now, from what I understand Death Valley just hit like 128 F, making it the hottest place on earth! I have not been breaking as many records, but hopefully not falling too far behind. Gotta ensure I don't have any ' in my RUNA and ensure that it got submitted!

Today I have been able to accomplish some things thus far, but it just seems that the day ens before I get enough done, however I am getting up earlier these days, so that's nice at least.

Yeah dude it is getting HOT here as well, oof. I miss spring weather in Colombia pretty bad right about now. I guess I forgot about Chicago humidity??? Its basically either way too cold or way too hot. Definitely a lot easier to run in Medellín or Jardín!

Also cool you are getting up earlier! Any thing in particular that has been working for you? I need to get my alarm back going. The days I wake up before 7 are truly more productive for me.

I would say that the only thing that is kind of helping is how hot it gets during the day, for it gets near impossible to stay asleep once it gets hot enough! On the other hand, these puppies are really good at making enough noise to interrupt my sleep but not wake me up, so I feel tired most of the time anyways, lol. Maybe this is the path to true polyphasic sleeping...

I am a little b_tch when I dont get enough sleep. I need to be more Navy Seal in my approach to life. What happens if they get too little sleep? "Doesn't matter LETS GO!!"

I dunno what the deal is, for years I got 5 hours of sleep and felt great, then I let someone talk me into sleeping 8 hours a night and now I feel terrible for the first hour of the day and sleepy throughout the day until about 8 hours before bed. Really regret that one sometimes. Today I have been pretty productive, there is a surprising amount of stuff to learn when it comes to gene expression regulation, who woulda thought?

https://stevepavlina.com/blog/2005/05/h ... rly-riser/

I just put this in Julian's journal as well - who, coincidently, is also talking about waking up early! In fact the both of us read the 5 AM Club (his in english mine in spanish).

But the Steve Pavlina blog has a lot of good advice and this one especially. I remember reading it way back in 05!

You can slowly get your own genes to regulate your NEW sleep cycle to become an early riser awww yeahhhh!
