One idea is to make a weekend of events...

Julian - Pumpkin Spice Latte Workshop
Marcus - Halloween Chemistry
Deborah - Candy Cooking Classic
Teacher - Halloween Songs in Different Languages
Melissa/Sylvia - Draw Your Favorite Scary Creature
Angie - Pumpkin Painting
Marcela - ?

Another idea is to do another kind of big challenge and live stream it...

The weekend of events idea does sound pretty interesting, but could be a little tricky to pull off, same with a huge marathon stream. I do like the kinds of ideas suggested though and was wondering if we could have some multi-person events where the overall theme is Halloween and the various sub-themes can be grouped together. Making use of the examples provided there could be a two part meeting where guests can join Melissa and Sylvia in drawing their favorite scary creatures, after which Angie can show everyone how to take those drawings of scary animals and paint them onto pumpkins. Julian and Deborah could team up to have a multi-part event where initially Deborah shows everyone how to make tasty Halloween treats, for example, pumpkin-spice marshmallows or coffee cake, then while the cake is baking Julian could take over and go into detail about how to make a delicious Pumpkin Spice Latte. Ideally once the cake is finished baking and has been set out to cool for enough time Julian could be discussing how to put the finishing touches into the perfect cup and then everyone could have the fresh coffee cake and latte at the same time. This would also give people an incentive to RSVP because they could get an email in advance with a reminder and recipes detailing what they need to have in order to follow along at home. I am not entirely sure what I could do for halloween chemistry or who I could pair up with, but that is my basic idea. What do you guys think?

I do like that idea!

I just feel like it needs an extra something for it to be more than singular one off events... not sure yet.

Raffles? Like make it a big point that X tickets are sold and that a certain amount of them win prizes?

Surely there has to be some other thing than raffles too that can get people to want to buy multiple tickets.

I feel what made Angie's painting raffle event a success was that, many people buying multiple 5$ tickets to get a chance to win. And what made the 4448 event a success was people perhaps feeling inspired to donate a lot more than they might usually thinking okay if this guy is suffering it must be really worth it.

So those ARE at least two techniques, surely there are others, but maybe those are our bread and butter and we should think about how to combine them or how to make some part of them better.

Raffles do seem like a pretty good way to get people interested, with my idea it was more trying to incentivize the early purchase of tickets in order for people to actively participate in the event, because they would be getting the ingredients needed and other stuff but would still have to attend to find out how to put it all together. The marathon events are pretty cool, but we would need to make sure we add further focus so that it is appropriate for the person doing the marathon. There are tons of things that could be raffled, but the things with the most appeal would probably be the trickiest to raffle. For example, unless I am misremembering it would be difficult to raffle off a bag of coffee without the proper certificates and the artwork also required some paperwork last time, no?

True it could be a combo platter of events and raffle tickets.

Bags of coffee only need a certificate once you get to a giant amount like a hundred kilos or something.

And an art print would be shipped from the US since they are coming from printful as a dropshipper.

However I think we should have some more creative prizes… and also my brother has pointed out (and we’ve seen flyers for them) that raffling off cash prizes legit works and is done by plenty of 501c3s.

But still imagine we could combine the for every ticket it’s a raffle
Plus like a weekend long pass to all events
Plus some more creative for every x$ donated means more or longer or more intense the marathon esque challenge…

Uhhhh me gusta me gusta!

What about design your own Halloween gallito contest? When I was a kid the grocery store had a design your own pumpkin (on a sheet of paper). They put them up in the windows of the stores where I was born.
