Staying on track

Hey there guys, I just wanted to make this forum post so that we would have a place to discuss ways we have come up with for recognizing when we have gotten off track while trying to do something and the techniques we find most effective to get us back to the work we need to be doing! After the meeting had adjourned we had quite a few things we discussed, but the one that stood out the most to me was Julian's suggestion of using a dedicated browser when trying to be productive. What did you guys think?

Hey Marcus, such a great forum thread.

One of the things that easily catch my attention while studying is my phone, and whenever I open it to see something real quick I always end up surfing on other apps...So what I do is to move away my phone or any other device that may distract me from the important tasks I am doing.

Okay, one of the best things about this motion from Marcus was that he so eloquently defined and divided "STAYING ON TRACK" into its two ATOMIC forms:

1) NOTICING you are off track
2) GETTING BACK on track

Its honestly very MINDFUL (and just like in meditation, where your practice and ability as a meditator evolves along the ability to notice you are not being 'mindful' and your ability to get back into that 'oneness' state)

So one of the cool things that we came up with organically during the conversation was:

A - Define the "track" we are on as Explorers as the i+1 Path. Each step we take in an i+1 (small, positive, step in the 'right' direction) direction means a step along the i+1 path. See: "What is an i+1 Moment" in the i+1 Journal.
B - Use a mnemonic device in person to "check in" and see if we are - in that very moment - on our i+1 Path or off of it.

B* Marcus used the very astute analogy of reality checks for those seeking to be able to lucid dream.

I think a great check for me would be to look at my watch. I want to develop the habit action that:

"After I look at my watch, I will ask myself: Is what I am doing ON the i+1 Path or OFF of it?"

In fact, this might be a good HA (Habit Action) for me to try this week! :ugeek:
