Well, I guess we can change what the calendar says.

I would say that today was somewhat productive, but it was a little tricky to get everything I wanted done. Hopefully I can get an earlier start tomorrow and maybe find homes for more puppies.

True, as that was what Arley was going for. Trying to motivate you guys to do audios.

Ultimately, I think for most partners, the best idea is to post a request in your native language and respond to it yourself. Just like any coach would do, set what their trainee would practice.

Because it is a lot harder for learners of a new language to always know what sentence is appropriate for their skill level, or dialect they are trying to adopt, etc.

I have been using the Sentences Added to add notes on other Explorers during the week or even their events. If I notice they say something that could be improved or if (like in the case of the Announcement audio requests we did for you) based on specific interests and actual practical application in mind!

Plus then you can just get your 5 audio responsibilities out of the way ASAP and feel confident you are directly helping your 'Identity Trainee' become more bilingual!

PS
Your Anki client does not support the new timezone handling yet. Please switch to the legacy handling in the computer version's Preferences screen.
Can you please switch to the legacy handling so as to synchronize?

I will definitely see if I can get it to sync properly, not sure why it is doing that. While I do understand the concept of an identity coach I do find the number of limitations extremely difficult to comply with due to my neurological disorder. I mean, this may sound extreme but would you assign a walking coach to someone with a physical disability that left them unable to walk and then give them penalties when they don't walk enough or walked at the wrong times? I am going to talk to my doctor as my current treatment plan clearly is not very effective, but in the meantime I will keep trying and hope for the best. Maybe my best bet is to go back and try to focus on really establishing the first few levels as a solid foundation upon which to build habits, as I still find myself having a hard time establishing a stable schedule of tasks to accomplish in an ordered fashion, resulting in fractured study sessions. I also really need to find a home for these puppies as having to constantly change my schedule whenever someone wants to see puppies and then have them decide not to show up really wreaks havoc with any kind of scheduling.

Well, there are always solutions. You could read out a very basic article and record it that I am sure could last Arley months. Especially if we train him to properly add (in one paragraph of text of only like 4-5 sentences, I can spend 25 minutes and add like 50-60 cards. Something like that could take Arley several 25 minute sessions, so several days).

Could we delegate the task? Is there someone else we know that would volunteer 10 minutes a week to do it? Even if its just in one long wav file I could easily cut it up for him or I think at this point Arley might even know how to. Like I would do it but that defeats the point.

While I haven't been diagnosed, I have been told my people that my poor grades in high school but higher test scores could be the result of ADD. And in fact, the only time in my life I have ever been able to stick to productive schedules and habits that last longer more than a week has been post-i+1, thanks to all of our work with it. This is coming from someone who has always been an early adopter of every tech and basically grew up with AIM lol.

And yet I know people who definitely are not faulting of attention at all and sucked it real hard with even the most basic of Anki studying. So you are much further along than most, thats why were even at this point this far along in our journey bro! Its pretty amazing to see your progress, mine, and everyone elses!

Like when I thought of delegating it I thought of the rest of my family (not including my Mom since she has her own partner) and like they simply have zero regular daily habits as it is besides the most basic. So I don't think its a neurological disorder per se (while that clearly has its effects I am nowhere near denying that) but rather a human disorder towards akrasia.

But every problem has its solution we just have to find it.

I definitely agree with you on the fact that every human problem has a solution, but I would go further and say that every human problem has multiple solutions, for it would be far too easy if we could just find universal solutions that work for everyone. In my case I know I have problems with starting and stopping tasks in reasonable amounts of time, so I prefer to finish things all at once whenever I can. The timer has helped me a little, but I oftentimes forget to turn it on or get frustrated when it interrupts my train of thought when I am mid study-session. That being said, my best bet would just be to do a bunch of requests all at the beginning of the week and a bunch of records all at the beginning of the week, that way Arley could edit them at his leisure. I definitely have had a lot of benefit in terms of working towards goals thanks to the ACA, but I feel like I should make some other changes and probably need to consult my doctor about interactions between medication and caffeine since I need both to be productive and would rather cut way down on caffeine consumption and reconfigure my medication schedule than keep up what I have been doing.

See now that would work! Plus I want to make a motion this meeting so that Identity Coaches are encouraged to submit their own audios. Basically you pick a bunch of sentences in English you think would be useful for Arley and vice versa, request them and just record for them. I could definitely help too. But I feel when learning a language it can be hard to pick out whats an appropriate sentence for your level. And that way we wouldn't need so much coordinating of times, you could just do them all at once bingo bango.

You have to give yourself a LOT of credit though for even willing to go to the doc in the first place. Thats an area of weakness for me but I did just get accepted to Medicaid so hopefully can take advantage of that while I am here. I think the pandemic gave me a worse fear of hospitals and doctors in general though.

Plus Marcus just think of all you have done with the clan. Now you are studying 100 a day?! Like I said, I feel there are plenty of normal people (none of which are Explorers hah) that couldn't come close to that... so I am just so proud of what you have accomplished, what you have inspired me to accomplish, and what we have accomplished together.

Who would have thought our friendship back in Durango at the Fort would have blossomed into this and helped spur on this whole ACA! Amazing and inspiring!

I definitely was not expecting to be using anki regularly and do enjoy being able to better remember the information I have been studying, although I sometimes have a difficult time selecting which parts of a text I want to extract and memorize. I am probably going to get some sentences for the ACA meetings recorded in english like you suggested since that should be immediately useful to Arley, but I also want to figure out a few other sentences that could be useful. It is really good that you were able to get into medicaid, hopefully you can see a PCP and talk to them, although sometimes it is a little difficult to find one and other times you have to talk to psychiatrists. I feel as though you give me too much credit, but I feel like I have quite a bit to do to keep up with everyone else. It is pretty awesome that we ended up becoming friends despite you getting the wrong impression when we first met what with that shrunken head I had dangling from my mirror, it certainly is amazing that the ACA has come this far, and it's just getting started!

Today I have found myself less productive, in no small part thanks to a puppy suddenly being unable to keep water down. At least I am able to still get my i+1 journal going.
